Christian Church Homes

Oakland, CA

Founded in 1961

Margaret Mead said it best when she shared “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.” For over 50 years Christian Church Homes (CCH) has been dedicated to providing our residents with More Than A Home. Our brief video offers a glimpse into who we are.

MISSION OF FAITH AND COMPASSION

Providing Affordable Quality Housing in Caring Communities

VISION OF HUMANITY

Transforming communities by fostering human dignity, mutual respect, personal independence, and supportive environments

HISTORY OF COMMITMENT

In 1961, when a group of affordable housing visionaries began creating the template for what is now known as CCH, there were no press conferences, no official announcements, no blog and no tweet to herald its formation. Yet, from the very beginning and throughout its six decades of history, there have been four key components worth shouting about: vision, commitment, partnerships and caring.

Having served more than 100,000 residents in the course of 60-plus years, CCH continues to collaborate with national, regional and local government agencies, investors and donors to build more affordable housing for our growing senior population.

ADVOCACY FOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING

CCH and other nonprofit organizations take concerned seniors to Sacramento annually to meet with legislators on issues of relevance. Our committed advocates also participate in phone calling and letter writing campaigns to local, state and federal legislators when pertinent issues arise affecting the lives of seniors.

OUR CARING COMMUNITIES

Basic overview of CCH communities:

Median annual income of residents at CCH communities is 20 to 60 percent of Area Median Income (AMI)

The age range of our residents is 55 to 90 plus years.

CCH currently manages about 50 communities, housing more than 5,000 residents in nine states.
